How To Start Your Anti-Racism Journey
Anti-Racism for Allies

Start where you are. Get curious. Ask Questions.
Today I am excited to announce the launch of the Inclusion 1st Project, a collaborative exploration of inclusion via the questions and discourse created by allyship in the Anti-racist Movement. I want to understand the questions that our White allies have and the thoughts behind them. Why? So we can provide thoughtful and action-inspiring answers for our friends, family, and colleagues who are thinking about the complex, uncomfortable, and multifaceted issue of race in an entirely new way or maybe even for the very first time.
So how does this work? Every week we’re hosting a free, live Antiracism Ally Q&A session; we are taking on all types of topics, no question is off-limits, nor will be judged as dumb or bad. Anything that comes from a spirit of learning and expansion will be welcomed. My goal is to meet people right where they are: at the intersection of the questions they are too afraid to ask and the empathy, understanding, and growth that is waiting to emerge.
I’m collecting anonymous questions on my site, www.inclusion1stproject.org, and across your favorite social media platforms (follow me, links below). Every week, I’ll select questions to answer during the live Q&A session and I’ll also be posting videos and blogging about trending topics. Join the Inclusion 1st Community to stay up to date on the newest antiracism answers AND to submit your questions.
Seriously, your questions are like gold, ask that question here and now, don’t wait! The more questions you ask, the better our answers will be and the more tools and resources we can provide to help build incredible antiracism allies.
Ultimately, we want to start taking the necessary steps to unlearn racism, from the inside out, and replace it with a way of thinking, speaking, and being that puts inclusion 1st. This is our goal and the inspiration for the Inclusion 1st project. It is up to all of us to build the incredible, beautiful, amazing, and INCLUSIVE world we want to live in. And we all have an important and critical role to play in the transformation that is just beginning. We are in this together and each one of us is an agent of the collective good. We are being called to act, join us now.
